Christian Kahrmann was born in Cologne on 19 June 1972 and began his acting career at an exceptionally young age. At just 13, he landed the role of Benny Beimer in the long-running and hugely successful German television series Lindenstraße, a role that made him a familiar face to millions of viewers.
In 1995, Kahrmann moved to New York, where he studied acting at the renowned Herbert Berghof Studio, working with acclaimed teachers including Uta Hagen, Salem Ludwig and Susan Batson. A year later, he founded the theatre company German Theater Abroad, dedicated to promoting German-language drama in the United States.
His film career encompasses both German cult classics and international productions. He appeared in films such as Bang Boom Bang and Das erste Semester, as well as the international productions Hart’s War, alongside Colin Farrell and Bruce Willis, and Equilibrium, starring Christian Bale.
Over the course of four decades, Kahrmann has worked extensively across television and film, appearing in numerous acclaimed productions including The Miracle of Lengede, Und Tschüss!, Klassentreffen, The Sinking of the Pamir, Asbest, the Netflix hit Blood & Gold, and, most recently, the Amazon series Ride or Die, alongside Hannah Waddingham and Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer.
A passionate cinephile, Kahrmann is a member of the German Film Academy and remains active across a wide range of the industry. In addition to his work in front of the camera, he is also a sought-after voice actor.

Christian Kahrmann wurde am 19. Juni 1972 in Köln geboren. Schon früh zeichnete sich eine Karriere als Schauspieler ab. Bereits mit 13 Jahren ergatterte Kahrmann seine erste Hauptrolle des „Benny Beimer“ in der Erfolgsserie Lindenstraße. 1995 siedelte Kahrmann nach New York über und begann ein Schauspielstudium am renommierten Herbert-Berghof-Studio bei Uta Hagen, Salem Ludwig und Susan Batson. Dort gründete er 1996 die Theatergruppe „German Theater Abroad“ zur Förderung deutscher Dramatik in den USA.
Im Kino war er in Kultfilmen wie Bang Boom Bang und Das erste Semester sowie in den internationalen Produktionen Das Tribunal mit Colin Farrell und Bruce Willis sowie Equilibrium an der Seite von Christian Bale zu sehen.
Im TV hat er in den letzten 40 Jahren in unzähligen Produktionen mitgewirkt, wie Das Wunder von Lengede, Und Tschüss !, Klassentreffen, Der Untergang der Pamir, Asbest, dem Netflix-Knaller Blood & Gold sowie kürzlich im Amazon-Serienhit Ride or Die neben Hannah Waddingham und Oscar-Preisträgerin Octavia Spencer.
Kahrmann ist leidenschaftlicher Cineast, Mitglied der Deutschen Filmakademie und ebenfalls häufig als Synchronsprecher tätig.
