Antje Nikola Mönning is a multidisciplinary filmmaker with extensive experience across all aspects of cinema. She became widely known for her role as Sister Jenny in the popular German TV series Um Himmels Willen (ARD). Since 2007, she has been a core member of the wtp collective, where she has worked as an actress, producer, director, screenwriter, and composer on numerous film productions.
Her artistic portfolio includes the feature films Angels with Dirty Wings (Engel mit schmutzigen Flügeln), Illusion, The Taste of Life (Der Geschmack von Leben), Roland Reber’s Death Revue (Roland Rebers Todesrevue), and Everywhere There Is a Hausen (Überall gibt es ein Hausen). Beyond her work in front of the camera, she has been deeply involved in screenwriting, directing, producing, and composing original film scores.
Antje Nikola Mönning also brings significant experience as a film festival juror. In 2025, she served on the International Jury of the Landshut Short Film Festival, and in 2009 she was a member of the jury at the prestigious SITGES – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia in Spain.
With her exceptional artistic versatility, decades of experience in independent filmmaking, and her deep understanding of film as both a creative medium and a form of social expression, Antje Nikola Mönning is a distinguished and valuable member of the AI Film Festival jury.

Antje Nikola Mönning ist eine vielseitige Filmschaffende, die Kino aus unterschiedlichsten Perspektiven kennt. Als Schauspielerin wurde sie einem breiten Publikum unter anderem durch ihre Rolle als Schwester Jenny in der ARD-Serie „Um Himmels Willen“ bekannt. Seit 2007 ist sie festes Mitglied des wtp-kollektivs und arbeitet als Schauspielerin, Produzentin, Regisseurin, Autorin und Komponistin an zahlreichen Filmproduktionen.
Ihre künstlerische Arbeit umfasst unter anderem die Kinofilme „Engel mit schmutzigen Flügeln“, „Illusion“, „Der Geschmack von Leben“, „Roland Rebers Todesrevue“ und „Überall gibt es ein Hausen“. Dabei ist sie nicht nur vor der Kamera tätig, sondern beteiligt sich auch an Drehbuch, Regie, Produktion und Filmmusik.
Auch als Jurorin bringt Antje Nikola Mönning umfassende Festivalerfahrung mit: 2025 war sie Mitglied der Internationalen Jury des Landshuter Kurzfilmfestivals. Bereits 2009 gehörte sie der Jury des renommierten SITGES International Film Festival of Catalunya in Spanien an.
Mit ihrer großen künstlerischen Bandbreite, ihrer langjährigen Erfahrung im unabhängigen Filmschaffen und ihrem Blick auf Film als kreativen und gesellschaftlichen Ausdruck ist Antje Nikola Mönning eine besondere Bereicherung für die Jury des AI Filmfestivals.
